Crisis Nursery is a shelter for abused, neglected or homeless children, newborn to 11 years old. The shelter can house 42 children and since 1977 has provided hope, support and opportunities to over 14,000 children and their families. In December PRWC members who wish to participate purchase a Christmas gift and attend a gift-wrap party. The Caring for America committee takes the gifts to Crisis Nursery before Christmas. Additional donations are made during the year.

PRWC has become involved with the newly organized Arizona Coalition for Military Families, a public/private partnership focused on serving and supporting military families. In conjunction with the Arizona National Guard State Family Programs, we will hold a spring and fall baby shower at the National Guard for expectant moms whose husbands are currently deployed. Each lady will receive a gift basket containing baby items and a gift card. Monetary donations are tax deductible as a charitable contribution. Non PRWC members are welcome to participate.
New Day is Arizona’s largest homeless shelter for families and the only shelter where boys over age 12 may remain with their families. Founded in 1964, the nonprofit organization receives corporate, individual, foundation and government support. Each month a wish list of various necessities is received, a basket is passed at the General Meetings and whoever wishes to donate money does so for that month’s purchases.
