"I had a great time today speaking to the Paradise Republican Women's Club. It is wonderful to speak before an audience that really learns something. As I told everybody, I am a high school teacher and my students, whether it is economics or government, tend to learn the lessons we give them and they tend to get the basic concepts of economics which is very important. Unfortunately, our legislatures often do not get these lessons and our local government officials especially do not get these lessons. We have a lot of work to do in Arizona making sure our elected officials understand some very basic concepts - such as you should not spend more than you make. The government should not grow faster than the economy grows. Regulation is a form of taxation and it does hurt businesses and consumers. All of these lessons are things we need to get through to the politicians. I think groups such as the Paradise Republican Women have a huge role to play in this educational campaign."

"It was such an honor for me to be here and speak to you today and I would like to leave these parting words - We are in tumultuous times in the entire world and Arizona has an opportunity to turn itself around through mineralization and through the mining industry. You want to talk to your friends and families and tell them how important the mining industry is to the State of Arizona and what an impact it will have on the entire world."

"In this year's election, the work we do as a united Arizona Republican Party could set the precedence, not only for the direction our own state takes, but the direction the country takes. We must move forward, not fall backward in addressing major issues - from electing a president who is truly prepared to lead against real terrorist threats from abroad, to addressing critical issues here at home where we face balancing a $2 billion budget deficit created by the Democrats, to thwarting Democrats who want to gerrymander district lines and increase taxes. In 2008, more than ever, we Republicans must be focused and deliver a victory."
